Perth Airport (PER) has two main terminal precincts on opposite sides of the runway: T1/T2 and T3/T4. A free shuttle links them in about 15 minutes, but it is not a short walk, so check which terminal your airline uses before you book a pick-up point.

2Picking Up the Car
On-airport desks are in the public arrivals area of Terminal 1 and opposite baggage reclaim in Terminals 2, 3 and 4. Off-airport companies, including Bargain Car Rentals, East Coast Car Rentals and Everything Fleet, have depots in Kewdale, about 6 km away, with free shuttles from set pick-up points.
Call your off-airport supplier when you land so the shuttle is ready.
3Returning the Car
- T1/T2: use Airport Drive and take the slip road on the right to the car park. After hours, use the key drop box at the car park booth.
- T3/T4: from Great Eastern Highway take Tonkin Highway to Dunreath Drive, then Brearley Avenue and Miller Road, and follow the rental return signs.
- Off-airport: return to the Kewdale depot and take the shuttle; allow at least an hour.

Perth was one of the more expensive capitals in 2025 data, with airport pick-ups averaging about A$111 a day and city branches about A$107. Off-airport depots in Kewdale averaged about A$76. July was the cheapest month and April the most expensive.

6Arrival Checklist

- Off-airport: call the supplier when you land and go to the shuttle pick-up point for your terminal.

7Fuel and Returning Full
Most rentals are full-to-full: return the tank as full as you received it, or pay a refuelling charge well above the pump price. There are service stations close to both terminal precincts, including in Belmont near T1/T2 and in Kewdale, near the off-airport depots. Keep the receipt in case the fuel level is questioned.
8Driving From Perth Airport
Perth has no toll roads. The city centre is about 20 minutes away, Fremantle about 35 and the Kwinana Freeway south to Margaret River is easy to reach from both terminals. Peak traffic is roughly 07:30–09:30 and 16:30–18:00 on weekdays.
